I'm so thrilled to share these beautiful photos from Jemima & Mike's wedding last year with you! Jemima has been a dear friend since we were 13 so I was honoured to be asked to do her wedding flowers. We've had a lot of adventures together, from the time she bleached her hair on a school trip, to spending our summers at festivals as teenagers to a couple of wonderful girly holidays together; but nothing has been as exciting as watching her fall in love and get married to her wonderful husband Mike.
They decided to get married in Jemima's home town of Tiverton in Devon, which is conveniently only 20 minutes from me. Over tea in her parent's kitchen we decided on a colour theme that is one of my favourites - blush pink, pale peach and white with touches of wedgewood blue which we incorporated with succulents and thistles.
Jemima's Dad is an incredible gardener so I wanted to bring in that natural theme with my choice of materials and echo the garden of the house she grew up in. The flowers were David Austin peach roses, Cafe au Lait dahlias from the cutting garden, lots of beautiful seasonal blooms from here and Radley Cross, all finished off with some beautiful seeded eucalyptus. Lots of limelight hydrangea and ammi majus added a country garden feel, perfect for the beautiful surroundings of Kia Ora. For the church, the milk bottles were spray painted with rose gold spray paint and bound with wire to hang as pew ends, and I also made foliage wreaths to bring the outside in.
We were blessed with beautiful weather, lots of Pimms and the most incredible food from Piglet Cottage. It was a joy-filled day with old friends and hilarious speeches, and I'm just so happy for these gorgeous people! I have to admit to having a little cry as the Bride's brother and I adjusted her train and watched her walk down the aisle!
Massive thanks to the extremely talented Jessica Williams Photography for the photos, and the willing guests I pressed ganged into taking part in the confetti shot!! Also featuring my best girl Rosie down at the bottom there - she was a total hero as I embarked on my first wedding post-baby, providing much needed assistance and support!
