Community Supported Agriculture

Bouquet Subscription

This year, I’m really excited to offer a CSA subscription. CSA – community supported agriculture – is a really wonderful way to support your local businesses and keep them in the community. It’s a bit like patreon, but for flowers.

Why

I’m really passionate about using locally grown flowers in my work and it doesn’t get much more local than my own cutting garden! I’ve always grown some flowers at home, but with the retirement of my local grower last year, now I need to up my game. With that comes added costs – both in terms of plants, seeds and bulbs, and equipment like irrigation systems, staking supplies and weed cloth. A CSA subscription allows me to get going on that straight away – this is especially vital after the covid pandemic led to my floristry income shrinking by 90%.

Who

I’m Sarah - a florist and flower gardener based on the edge of Exmoor in North Devon. I’m married to John and we have two girls, aged 7 and 3. I grow my flowers in a local field and at home in my cutting garden - we’re lucky enough to have a big, sunny space and I’m always trying to find ways to get as many flowers as I can out of the beds! I’m driven by a desire to garden responsibly, I try to make eco friendly choices, I don’t use peat and only use organic treatments on my plants. I adore growing flowers, it’s my absolute favourite thing to do and I’m hoping this year to share more of this journey on my website and social media.

How

The CSA subscriptions are 6 gorgeous, seasonal bouquets every fortnight for three months. There are two options:

First Blooms runs May through to July and High Summer from August to October. They’ll be packed with whatever’s in season, from tulips to roses and dahlias and everything in-between. To give you an idea, all the photos on this page are home grown flowers!
Unlike a mail order flower subscription, every penny goes to this local business! The subscription costs £150 and you can come and say hi, meet the family and see the cutting garden change with the seasons when you pick up your flowers, so you really get to see what you’re supporting.
You’ll also get a 10% discount on our Christmas wreath workshops and kits as a thank you for supporting the business!

You can purchase a CSA subscription here – there is a strict limit of 10 slots for each option so don’t delay!

As we can’t always control the weather, if I have to supplement the bouquets with outside flowers, they will always be from a local (Devon/Cornwall/Exmoor) grower. The CSA subscription is collection (From North Molton) only, fortnightly from the first Sunday of the month in which your option starts. Full details will be emailed to you after purchase.
